Use of right hand fingers for plucking is an important aspect of Tanam playing in Vina. Alternating plucking of main playing strings by fore-finger and middle-finger and that of tala string by little finger dominates tanam. The scholar suggests a method of using the syllables of meaningful text for practising tanam. |
